The Smile That Came Back
Riya was a lively and confident college student. She loved talking to people, making new friends, and spreading positivity wherever she went. Her cheerful personality made her one of the most popular students on campus. Whether it was group discussions, cultural events, or casual conversations, Riya was always full of energy.

Riya's parents loved her very much. She was their only child. Though her father was a bit strict, he never got angry with her. Her mother was very nice. She was always worried about her daughter's well-being. Riya's smile made her mother forget everything.

But one day, everything changed. (लेकिन एक दिन सब कुछ बदल गया।)
She became unusually quiet. She stopped joining her friends for lunch, avoided college events, and hardly spoke in class. The bright smile that everyone loved had disappeared. At first, her classmates thought she was stressed because of studies. But as the days passed, her silence became impossible to ignore.
(रिया असामान्य रूप से चुप रहने लगी। उसने अपने दोस्तों के साथ दोपहर का भोजन करना छोड़ दिया, कॉलेज के कार्यक्रमों में जाना बंद कर दिया और कक्षा में भी बहुत कम बोलने लगी। उसकी वह प्यारी मुस्कान, जिसे हर कोई पसंद करता था, जैसे कहीं खो गई थी। शुरुआत में उसके सहपाठियों ने सोचा कि शायद वह पढ़ाई के तनाव में है। लेकिन जैसे-जैसे दिन बीतते गए, उसकी खामोशी को नज़रअंदाज़ करना असंभव हो गया।)
Her mother was sure that something must have happened. She tried to find out, but Riya would not tell her anything. Her mother thought that there must be some problem between Riya and her best friend, Aditi. But there was nothing like that. The matter was different and serious, and only Riya knew the truth.

One afternoon, Riya's best friend, Aditi, noticed that she looked frightened and upset. After talking to her with patience and care, Riya finally broke down in tears and revealed the truth. Aditi was shocked to hear the truth. She became deeply upset and angry. She immediately told Riya's mother what had happened to Riya. This made Riya's mother angry. She told Riya's father everything that had happened.
(एक दोपहर, रिया की सबसे अच्छी दोस्त, अदिति, ने देखा कि वह बहुत डरी हुई और परेशान लग रही है। उसने धैर्य और प्यार से रिया से बात की। आखिरकार रिया फूट-फूटकर रो पड़ी और उसने पूरी सच्चाई बता दी। यह सुनकर अदिति स्तब्ध रह गई। उसे बहुत दुख और गुस्सा आया। उसने तुरंत रिया की माँ को सारी बात बता दी। यह सुनकर रिया की माँ भी बहुत नाराज़ हुईं और उन्होंने रिया के पिता को पूरी घटना बता दी।)
In fact, a boy from her college had been trying to blackmail her. He had been threatening her and making her feel scared, which had left her emotionally disturbed. Afraid of being judged, Riya had kept everything to herself. She did not even tell her mother.
(दरअसल, कॉलेज का एक लड़का रिया को ब्लैकमेल करने की कोशिश कर रहा था। वह उसे लगातार धमका रहा था और डराकर मानसिक रूप से परेशान कर रहा था। लोगों के ताने और गलतफहमी के डर से रिया ने यह बात किसी को नहीं बताई थी। उसने अपनी माँ तक को इसके बारे में कुछ नहीं बताया।)
Her friend immediately encouraged her to report the matter. Together, they informed a trusted professor and the college administration. The college took the complaint seriously and conducted a proper investigation.

The investigation proved that the boy was guilty. He was a shameless fellow. When his parents were summoned to the college, he did not show even the slightest regret for his behaviour. It was really shocking when his parents also tried to defend him. They wanted their son to be forgiven. But strict disciplinary action was taken against their son, and he was expelled from the college for his unacceptable behaviour.
(जाँच में यह साबित हो गया कि वह लड़का दोषी था। वह बेहद बेशर्म था। जब उसके माता-पिता को कॉलेज बुलाया गया, तब भी उसे अपने व्यवहार पर ज़रा भी पछतावा नहीं था। सबसे हैरानी की बात यह थी कि उसके माता-पिता भी उसका बचाव करने लगे। वे चाहते थे कि उनके बेटे को माफ़ कर दिया जाए। लेकिन कॉलेज ने उसके अस्वीकार्य व्यवहार के कारण उसके विरुद्ध कड़ी अनुशासनात्मक कार्रवाई की और उसे कॉलेज से निष्कासित कर दिया।)
Throughout this difficult time, Riya received constant support from her parents, teachers, friends, and college counsellors. Their kindness and encouragement helped her regain her confidence. The college also set an exemplary precedent in this matter.
(इस कठिन समय में रिया को अपने माता-पिता, शिक्षकों, दोस्तों और कॉलेज के काउंसलरों का पूरा साथ मिला। उनके प्यार, सहयोग और हौसले ने उसका आत्मविश्वास फिर से लौटा दिया। इस मामले में कॉलेज ने भी एक सराहनीय उदाहरण प्रस्तुत किया।)
Gradually, everything returned to normal. Riya slowly started smiling again. She became active in college life, laughed with her friends, participated in activities, and once again filled every room with her positive energy.

Everyone was delighted to see the old Riya back. Her courage inspired many students to speak up against bullying and harassment instead of suffering in silence.
पुरानी रिया को वापस देखकर सभी बहुत खुश थे। उसकी बहादुरी ने कई विद्यार्थियों को यह प्रेरणा दी कि वे बदमाशी, उत्पीड़न या ब्लैकमेल जैसी घटनाओं को चुपचाप सहने के बजाय उनके खिलाफ आवाज़ उठाएँ।
The whole incident teaches us that we should never stay silent if someone threatens, bullies, or blackmails us, speaking to a trusted person is the first step towards safety, justice, and healing.
